Departure from Puerto Natales (High Season: September to March): 6:00 a.m.

After about one hour of travel, you will reach the Argentine border (if traveling with minors, you must carry the family record book).

You will travel for approximately 5 hours to finally arrive in El Calafate. There, a bilingual guide will join the tour. After about one more hour, we will arrive at South America's largest glacier: Perito Moreno. The guide will explain the visit in detail, which lasts approximately 2 hours, walking along the viewpoints connected by modern walkways. There is also an optional navigation excursion that gets you closer to the Perito Moreno Glacier’s front wall.

Return time: approximately 21:30 (9:30 p.m.).

IMPORTANT: It is very important to carry your identification documents and the corresponding Argentine pesos to pay the glacier entrance ticket. You may also pay in US dollars, but it will be subject to the exchange rate established in El Calafate.
DAY 4 | BALMACEDA & SERRANO GLACIERS NAVIGATION
This tour offers two departures during high season and can be taken either in the morning or in the afternoon.

Departure time will depend on availability and on the month of the season when the excursion is scheduled.

However, it is typical for the departure from our hostel to be at 7:20 a.m. Transfer will be provided by our staff.
Navigation begins with a panoramic view of Puerto Bories, a former cold-storage plant near Puerto Natales. Then we approach the Eberhard Fjord, the first colonization point in our province. Other places we will pass include Última Esperanza Fjord, Whale Hill, a sea lion colony, and the possibility of seeing condors. We then arrive at Balmaceda Mountain and Glacier, and later dock at Toro Pier. With a 1-kilometer walk through native forest, you will reach the spectacular Serrano Glacier.

The tour includes lunch, featuring Magellanic-style meats at Estancia de Turismo Perales.

The entrance fee to Bernardo O'Higgins National Park is included, and the return is scheduled to arrive back in Puerto Natales at approximately 17:00 (5:00 p.m.).

DAY 5 | BASE OF THE TOWERS (TORRES DEL PAINE) HIKE
Breakfast ideally at 5:45 a.m. Departure from our hostel at 6:15–6:45 a.m.

The minibus will arrive at the hostel and the trip begins to the Las Torres Sector (Hotel Las Torres) in Torres del Paine.

Around 10:00 a.m., the ascent begins. Each person must carry the necessary equipment for the trek (trekking poles are mandatory; suitable hiking shoes are recommended).

The approximate hiking time is 4 hours up and 4 hours down, allowing enough time to enjoy the scenery at the Base of the Towers. The trip will be supported by the driver(s), who will wait until each passenger returns to the Las Torres Sector to return to Puerto Natales.

IMPORTANT: The total time to ascend, enjoy the viewpoint, and descend will be agreed with the driver and must be respected, as the bus has a set schedule to return to Puerto Natales. In any case, passengers will have enough time to reach the base without problems.

Because this is a long uphill trek, it is not recommended for people with low physical fitness or medical conditions that prevent high-impact activities.

You should bring light clothing as well as warm layers, as the weather in Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine is often unpredictable.

Return from this tour is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. from Torres del Paine, arriving in Puerto Natales at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Includes trekking poles.
This tour package ends with the last night at our property. Check-out is until 11:00 a.m. If your return trip is later, you may stay at the hostel during the day and leave your luggage with us. If you would like to add an extra night, please request it in advance or check out our other tour packages that include more nights of accommodation at Hostal Alcazar.

PLEASE CONSIDER
The trip to Perito Moreno can be tiring, and due to limited time because of the border closing, it may feel like the driver is in a hurry.

It is recommended not to carry food of vegetable or animal origin during the Perito Moreno tour. Border controls are very strict, and if someone is found carrying these foods, the trip may be delayed, reducing time at the glacier.
For lunch inside Torres del Paine National Park, there are restaurant options within the park. We recommend bringing your own snack from the supermarket or purchasing our lunch box (includes juice, water, fruit, cereal, sandwich, yogurt and a snack) for only CLP $ 20,000 each.
